Bringing out the best in every kid, through play.
  • WHAT WE DO

In our partnership with school teachers, principals, and parents, F.I.T KID builds a culture of play which enables children to experience and feel a real sense of belonging and have endless opportunities to create a contribution on the playground, in the classroom, and in their communities where they can have a greater feeling of school safety and less bullying behavior around them.

We help schools and youth programs develop a recess program and play environments wherein students can continue to learn, grow, and become active during recess through playing. All kids should have the opportunity to experience the emotional, social, and physical benefits of play, which is why we have been helping educators re-think recess and playtime as a catalyst to greater learning and education.

  • WHY PLAY

Why do we focus on play? Research has shown that play enables a child to establish their own imagination, dexterity, and social, emotional, social, physical, and cognitive strength. Play is an essential part in the early years of childhood as it contributes to a healthy brain development.

As children become more involved in the world around them, they develop the skills, values, and knowledge that will mold them in the future. That is why during recess, this period becomes a necessary break from all the rigors of academic challenges. As such, a better recess helps them to have a stronger social and emotional skills and be more ready for the next class.

Along with play, bringing in nutritional awareness among students is also an essential part of the recess curriculum. It may be easy to get kids into the habit of eating just to fill up; however, being aware of the food they eat is important.

Children as they are, they could play for a long period of time and learn in class every day, so it is crucial for them to know the importance of eating the right kind of food to refuel their bodies, both for energy and sustenance.

We believe that educating children at an early age about good nutrition could help them establish and maintain a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle. It also helps in minimizing health concerns which are associated with poor diet. As such, our recess curriculum does not only promote the learning opportunities in play, but also the art of making smart and healthy choices every day so kids can stay well, healthy, and happy!

  • HOW DO WE DO IT

How do we establish a strategy to help educators balance the idea of letting children develop both of their emotional-social and intelligence banks?

Step 1: Assess the students’ social-emotional learning (SEL)

Our experts make use of an assessment tool which measures the social-emotional competencies of kids. This will be conducted by our experts at a certain period. Once they have successfully done the assessment, they can then establish a curriculum that can benefit both the whole class and individual students.

    Step 2: Teach SEL

By creating a strategic and balanced approach to teaching children social-emotional skills and knowledge, we are able to give children ample opportunities to learn through play. We establish a culture wherein play acts as a teaching environment and individual behavior support which is necessary for the academic and social-emotional success of every child.
